EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 8 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC), a leading global information technology (IT) services company, announced today that it has enhanced its UK healthcare business with the appointments of Pearse Butler and Professor Rajan Madhok. Both formerly from the National Health Service (NHS), Butler was chief executive of the Cumbria and Lancashire Strategic Health Authority (SHA), and Madhok was medical director at the Manchester Primary Care Trust (PCT).

Butler, who has more than 20 years of experience with the NHS, has been named director of Clinical Engagement. In addition to his role as chief executive at the Cumbria and Lancashire SHA, he was a senior representative for the NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT) in the North West and West Midlands cluster.
To further support CSC’s approach to engaging with health professionals on the NPfIT, the company has appointed Madhok as clinical director. He will divide his time between his new position at CSC and his duties as medical director of the Manchester PCT. Madhok holds an Honorary Chair at the University of Manchester and a Visiting Chair at the University of Teesside.
